Haiti: the emergency following the earthquake

haiti emergenza

A devastating earthquake – with a magnitude of 7.2 – has hit Haiti.

The earthquake took place 12 km northeast of Saint-Louis du Sud, in an area where for many years Cesvi has been fighting against famine and malnutrition with agricultural project, the construction of water supply systems and food security interventions. Our colleagues and our équipe are safe and secure, but the number of the casualties and the wounded is rising by the hour.

Cesvi’s Emergency Team is working to coordinate and launch the first relief interventions.

Essential items, drinking water, food and health assistance are urgently required and it will be important to give shelter to the people whose houses have been destroyed. Especially now that hurricanes and tropical storms are dangerously closing in on the island, with the risk of further worsen the situation.

Support with us the children, the women, the people of Haiti. Donate now and stand by our emergency intervention. Your help is urgent and of vital importance.
