In the Khatlon region in the south, Cesvi is working to guarantee clean sources of water for family consumption and agriculture. Activities centre on the rehabilitation, management and maintenance of existing structures and the spread of awareness throughout local communities. In the same region a project was started to improve the management of natural resources, give support to national structures and train the population on the sustainable use of resources. In the region of Sughd, in the north, support activities continue for agricultural production for disadvantaged families and the generation of income through the creation of small cooperatives. One final activity covers both regions and concerns the establishment of new areas of agricultural production. Cesvi is also trying to improve the quality of handicraft products by promoting fair trade with Italy.
