On the 13th of September Cesvi celebrates International Legacy Giving Day, to remind everyone about the importance of putting aside a part of your wealth for the most needy.
What is a charitable legacy? Perhaps not everyone knows that it is possible to include in your will a legacy for the children that Cesvi takes care of every day. That is why every year Cesvi celebrates this important day with numerous initiatives.
In our country, making a will is still uncommon, due to superstition and prejudice (only 8% of Italians over 55 years old has written a will, while 5% intends to do so and 6% is undecided). Because of this charitable legacies are even less common.
To overcome this resistance Cesvi takes part in the International Legacy Giving Day on the 13th of September, with initiatives aimed to spreading the idea of a will as an act of responsibility towards ones heirs, which makes it possible to set aside a part of ones estate for a good cause.
To further promote the culture of the charitable legacy in Italy, Cesvi has joined Charitable Will, a committee of prestigious non profit organisations that work in Italy and abroad to help and support those most in need. The Committee and the information and awareness campaign of the same name “Charitable Will” came into being to promote the importance of including a charitable legacy in one’s will: a gesture which can give much to others without damaging the rights of one’s family.
