Cesvi works in Kenya in Nairobi province and Nyanza province where is involved in two projects on child protection:

The EC funded project “Building the foundations for Child Labor Free Zones in Urban and Rural Kenya” located in Embakasi, Kasarani districts in Nairobi Province and Suba, Siaya and Kisumu districts in Nyanza Province. The project fits within the context of fighting child labor, which sees the NGO already active in different parts of the world. The project will reach 350.000 beneficiaries with a budget of 1.000.000 Euros.

The Media Friends foundation funded “Multipurpose center for health and psycho-social care to vulnerable children and distress teenagers - Lower Kabete - Nairobi Kenya” . Disabled children from the poorest neighborhoods of Nairobi are not included in the same educational and recreational contexts of their peers but rather, they are marginalized by their own families which can not afford to pay for care and attention specifications for their children. The project intends to strengthen and support a therapeutic care and rehabilitation center for disabled children of these neighborhoods together with an awareness campaign against the marginalization of disabled children in poor neighborhoods (SLUMS). Cesvi cooperate with the local NGO Watoto Ciao. The project will reach 18500 beneficiaries with a budget of 50.000 Euros per year.

In 2009 Cesvi realized in Dadaab area the project, funded by the Italian Cooperation, "Support to the system of waste management, recycling plastic and sanitation of slaughterhouses for the host communities and refugees in Dadaab, Kenya" The project has allowed the rehabilitation/construction of four slaughterhouses (Hagadera, Ifo, and Daghaley Alinjugur camps), the expansion of the system of waste collection and organization of a field Hagadera plastic recycling site for refugee camps. This intervention has allowed Cesvi to establish their base in Dadaab and create profitable channels of communication and collaboration with the local authorities, UN agencies and the community of refugees and host communities. In addition, Cesvi has been able to contribute with their knowledge and specific techniques in the field of environmental, public health and more specifically in the application of sustainable and integrated systems for waste collection in the camps.
Since April 2011 Cesvi is running the Italian Cooperation funded project “Emergency support to sanitation and environmental basis for host communities and refugees in Dadaab, Kenya” with interventions aimed at supporting the waste collection system in  Hagadera camp and slaughtering processes for Dadaab and Alinjugur host community and Ifo, Hagadera and Dagahaley refugee camps. The project will ensure hygiene standards in meat processing and their derivatives with the aim of strengthening the management capacity of the operating committees. The action also seeks to ensure  to Hagadera refugee camp the chance to live in a healthy environment, through the development and improvement of actual management system of solid waste and public awareness on environmental issues and sanitation. The project will reach 58.000 beneficiaries with a budget of 350.000 Euros.

In the Nairobi dumpsite of Dandora, Cesvi cooperates with the Alliance 2015 partner Concerne, in advocacy activities, training and awareness campaigns for the collectors.The entire project is supported by the Government of Kenya and Cesvi  supported the partner Concerne in promoting and conducting a ten days workshop for the Dandora collectors. The workshop’s main issues were on waste management, recycling, dangerous goods and rules of hygiene and it was held by participants in an interactive way to obtain a list of problems and solutions to be submitted to the ministry for its intervention.
