1. Cyclone Nargis emergency programme
On May the 3rd 2008 Cyclone Nargis hit the Ayeyarwady delta in Myanmar and caused unprecedented destruction. Official figures report 138.000 dead or missing. An estimated 2.4 million people have been heavily affected, with 486,660 homes estimated as destroyed. The cyclone caused considerable economic hardship, depleting assets, causing heavy loss of livestock, disrupting markets. 2. Multi-sector emergency intervention for population and IDPs in Doruma (DRC)
The attacks from LRA in Haut Uélé affected several locations, including Doruma. Since December 2008, such location hosts more than 17.000 IDPs from neighbouring villages.
