On 15 November 2007 the violent hurricane Sidr hit the coasts of Bangladesh spreading death and destruction. There were 3,500 victims and thousands of homeless. Cesvi is not active in Bangladesh, but it faced this emergency in collaboration with the networks Alliance2015 and Italia Aiuta. In particular, the European network Alliance2015 intervened in the early emergency through the action of the Irish NGO Concern. Thanks to the contribution of Cesvi, Concern could rebuild over 300 houses and hygienic facilities in one of the most damaged areas.
Cesvi is not present in Bangladesh at the moment.
