In 2011 Cesvi consolidated its presence in Kenya through regional coordination which supports not only activities in Kenya but also those in Somalia and South Sudan. Development activities include disabled child care in the slums of Nairobi and the protection of women and children at risk of labour exploitation.
Emergency actions are concentrated in the Dadaab refugee camps on the Somalia border and are aimed at improving hygiene, environmental impact and the management of basic services. In the districts of Wajir and Mandera a project is under way for the protection of children hit by the dramatic 2011 drought.
