Project type: Development
Sector: Health
The project for the promotion of neonatal health was expanded in 2011. Activities take place in three southern provinces inhabited by various ethnic minorities the Salavan, Sekong and Attapeu which are considered to be the most impoverished and needy of social, economic and sanitary aid. The local Ministry of Health was assisted in the training of personnel at national level in the consolidation of health management skills, supply of adequate instrumentation for neonatal wards (at provincial and district level) and the organization of maternal-infant health days. The project helps the development of services safeguarding maternal-infant health in three provincial hospitals, 14 district hospitals and 50 health centres.
Local partners: “Mother and Child Health Hospital” in Vientiane and the Laotian Ministry of Public Health
