Cesvi worked in the Koulikoro Region to guarantee food security to the Sanankoroba and Dialakoroba communities with the re-establishment of the agricultural areas destroyed by the 2008 floods as well as working to increase rice production. The project for the fight against desertification and the improvement in natural resources which ended in 2010, concentrated on the reinforcement of agricultural producer associations through specific training programmes and the distribution of seeds and agricultural equipment in the Ntillit and Tessit oases on the border with Niger and Burkina Faso. The activities which were directly carried out by the local Tassaght partner, resulted in the restoration of three dams and the Tessit oasis and the training of local communities on the correct management of water resources.
A series of meetings involving both national and international experts were held in Italy to heighten awareness in Milanese society of biodiversity and food security issues in developing countries.
Cesvi does not work in Mali at the moment.
